DEMARA SYLVESTER
Damara Sylvester stumbled upon conscious dance on a tiny island off the West Coast of Canada in 1998.

Since then, she has been influence by Five Rhythms, Butoh dance, Zuleikha, Feldenkrais, Qi Gong, Capoeira, Circus and physical theatre and many dance forms.

She has been enjoying teaching and innovating investigative mash-ups of all of the above for the past 28 years.

Damara runs her company InsideOut Circus and Physical Theatre, and is soon to graduate with a Masters degree in Creative Arts Therapy.
The Death of Trying
What are your invitations to surrender? What holds you as you exhale, as you relinquish the need to effort?
Let's explore a yielding to gravity and presence.
What can we learn about dying to the past and future and being born into the small now?
Following on from her Master's Research dissertation of the same name, in The Death of Trying Damara holds a space for shedding roles, responsibilities and 'shoulds' in the interest of encountering ground, presence and centre.
